The Show Must Go On!
I met Megan and Ethan at my brother’s wedding that I was photographing in Las Vegas, soon after that wedding they were engaged. I was excited when Megan reached out and wanted me to photograph her wedding after she saw the pictures from the Vegas wedding and wedding reception in Maryland. It was all set for March 28, 2020, and then, unfortunately, the venue was booked and they switched to March 21, 2020. I had to break the bad news that I was already booked that day for a wedding but could offer the photo booth rental. Still bummed I couldn’t shoot the wedding we still went and did an engagement shoot.
After the coronavirus outbreak began and Governor Hogan started to close restaurants and President Trump started to limit the number of people at gatherings I began reaching out to my upcoming events. Megan let me know her venue had not canceled on her like many others but that Ethan was National Guard and the reality of him being called away seemed inevitable.
So instead of waiting for the official call Megan and Ethan decided to move up their date to Monday, March 16, 2020. The great news was I was available to photograph, and after hearing all they were going through I couldn’t imagine charging them, I really just wanted to make their big day as memorable as possible so they could forget about the coronavirus (COVID 19), military order, and everything else that was stressful in their lives.
